Do you offer clinical trials or conduct cancer research?

Yes, we conduct clinical trials in Hawaii. Our oncology clinical research team runs trial programs to discover new cancer tests and treatments. Patients can enroll in cancer research programs we run with the Queen’s Medical Center and the University of Hawaii Cancer Center.

Does Hawaii Oncology accept insurance for cancer treatment?

Yes, our offices accept most major insurance plans for cancer treatment in Hawaii. Because each patient’s coverage is different, we recommend contacting your insurance company directly to confirm your benefits and eligibility.

Do you provide survivorship planning after treatment ends?

Yes. At Hawaii Oncology, our care doesn’t end when active treatment finishes. We provide ongoing cancer survivorship and surveillance services to help many patients stay healthy and supported. Patients can elect to receive a personalized survivorship care plan—also called a cancer survivorship plan—which outlines follow-up visits, screenings, and resources. This ensures that cancer care can continue seamlessly, with a focus on long-term health, wellness, and quality of life.

Do you use telehealth for consultations or follow-up care?

Initial consultations are typically done in person although exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis. Please call us if you are interested in telehealth consultations. We offer telehealth services for certain types of follow-up care after cancer treatment. This allows patients to conveniently check in with their care team while still ensuring that more complex needs are addressed in person.
